each participatiOn in a buffet sessiOn is like gastrO-intestinal suicide. Over-eating is a nOrm. it's pretty hard tO keep up that self-cOntrOl (nOt like i have any) when faced with thOse trays and trays Of inviting fOOd. Oysters, crayfish, prawns, rOasted beef, rOasted lamb chOps, german chicken sausages, sushi, sOup, baked pOtatO, chick pea pasta... nOtwithstanding, there's ALWAYS space fOr dessert yeah?

even thOugh i made a mental nOte way back in TKGS tO read this nOn-fictiOn piece Of wOrk, it was Only till recently that i chanced upOn a cOpy Of it in audrey & celine's rOOm. hOw delighted i was. that mental nOte was prObably buried underneath many Others alike... at least it's a tO-dO task fulfilled.

thOugh nOt much detailed insight On the brutalities Of the WWII and the campaign Of anti-semitic persecutiOn, it's a wOrthwhile read. despite witty remarks, human resilience, selfless acts, cOming Of age... there are depressing mOments Of self-dOubt, fear, suppressed desires, inner struggles. events might have been repetitive and mundane, but Anne's style Of writing is the truthful, unrestrained thOughts Of an OutgOing, assertive and expressive teenage girl. sO much hOpes and purpOse in her future yet tragically taken way befOre her time. frustrating as it still is, the One whO betrayed the eight hiding in the "Secret Annex" was never fOund. lOts Of speculatiOns and finger-pOinting. never prOsecuted due tO shOddy investigatiOn wOrks. pity.
